Safari Itinerary Day by Day

Welcome to Tanzania

• Arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport
• Overnight at Coffee Lodge or Katambuga

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, your guide will greet you and transfer you to your hotel in Arusha. The 90-minute drive offers a first glimpse of the vibrant Tanzanian landscape. Once you arrive at your boutique hotel, Coffee lodge or Katambuga House, take a moment to unwind. Enjoy a refreshing drink by the pool or indulge in a spa treatment before savoring a delicious dinner. Rest up as your adventure is about to begin.

Day 1

Discovering Nanyukie Hidden Wilderness

• Travel to Nanyukie Lodge, Lemala
• Overnight at Nanyukie Lodge

After breakfast, head out to Nanyukie Lodge in the Eastern Serengeti, where your safari truly begins. The drive from Arusha to the eastern Serengeti via Ngorongoro offers breathtaking views of the Tanzanian landscape, where you first wind through vibrant communities, Ascend the great rift Valley towards lush forests and coffee plantations before reaching the rim of the Ngorongoro Crater, which reveals a vast, verdant caldera stretching into the horizon. As you descend into the Serengeti, the scenery transitions to open savannahs, dotted with acacia trees and vast herds of wildlife, creating an unforgettable panorama of Africa’s wilderness.

Located in a remote and untouched corner of the Serengeti, Nanyukie Lodge offers the perfect combination of luxury and wilderness. Settle into your stylish tented suite, and after lunch, enjoy your first game drive through the stunning plains. This evening, relax in the lodge’s tranquil setting, where the sounds of nature will lull you to sleep.

Day 2

Explore the Serengeti Plains from Nanyukie Lodge

• Morning and Afternoon Game Drives
• Overnight at Nanyukie Lodge

Spend a full day at Nanyukie Lodge, where you can enjoy game drives and witness the Serengeti’s incredible wildlife up close. Known for its dramatic landscapes and abundant wildlife, the Eastern Serengeti plains is home to the famous Cheetah, and large prides of Lions, the magnificent Secretary bird and countless other plain species. Whether on the hunt or relaxing in the grasslands, the plains offers a perfect backdrop for a day of exploration. Return to the lodge for a leisurely evening, complete with a sundowner drink, as the sun sets over the horizon.

Day 3

Arriving at the Great Migration’s Heart

 

• A drive to the Serengeti North
• Overnight at Ubuntu Migration Camp or Kuria Hills Camp

After breakfast, take a scenic drive across the the Central Serengeti to the North, where you’ll be closer to the pulse of the Great Migration. Settle into either Ubuntu Migration Camp or Kuria Hills Camp, both offering intimate accommodations that put you right in the heart of the migration action. Depending on the time of year, you’ll witness massive herds of wildebeest and zebras making their way to the Kenyan side or back to Tanzanian side via the untamed Mara river. Dictated with patience you will witness one of the worlds incredible natural phenomena.

Day 4

The Migration’s Majestic Drama

• Morning and Afternoon Game Drives
• Overnight at Ubuntu Migration Camp or Kuria Hills Camp

Over the next three days, you’ll get an up-close look at the awe-inspiring Mara River crossing. Our private vehicle will allow you to follow the herds at your own pace giving you the best opportunities to witness the migration at its most dramatic. Herds of wildebeest and zebras will risk their lives crossing the river, all while predators lurk nearby. If you’re feeling adventurous, you can take a hot-air balloon ride to view the migration from above, Evenings around the campfire will provide the perfect chance to share stories and reflect on the day’s experiences.

Day 5 - 7

Farewell to the Serengeti

• Flight to Kilimanjaro International Airport

After one last game drive in the Serengeti, bid farewell to the wilderness. Take a flight back to Kilimanjaro, where you’ll be transferred to the airport for your onward journey. Your heart will be full of memories from your time spent in Tanzania’s wild beauty—the perfect way to end an unforgettable safari.
