Day 1 - Arrival in Nairobi

Welcome to Kenya! Your premium birding and wildlife adventure begins in the bustling capital

city of Nairobi, the ultimate gateway to East Africa’s finest wilderness destinations. Upon

arriving at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, you will be warmly met by your private guideand transferred directly to your comfortable city hotel. Check in at your accommodation, settle

into your room, and spend a relaxed evening resting after your international flight. Enjoy a

fresh dinner at the hotel restaurant as you prepare for the spectacular journey ahead.

Day 2 - Nairobi National Park

Experience your first full-day safari in the world’s only wildlife capital park, where open

savannah plains sit against a unique city skyline. Fuel up with an early breakfast at the hotel

before heading out for a thrilling morning and afternoon birding and wildlife viewing session.

This diverse sanctuary hosts over 500 bird species, including the iconic Secretary Bird,

alongside thriving populations of black rhinos, lions, leopards, and hyenas. Enjoy a picnic

lunch out in the field under an acacia tree, continuing your tracking through the afternoon

before returning to your hotel for dinner and a restful night.

Days 3-4: Amboseli National Park

Journey south after an early morning breakfast, checking out of your hotel to drive toward

Amboseli National Park, famous for its massive elephant herds and dramatic backdrops. Arrive

views of Africa’s highest peak, Mount Kilimanjaro.

Spend your afternoons on Day 3 and Day 4 exploring the park’s unique wetlands and short-

Day 5 - Mount Kenya Highlands

heading north across the equator. Arrive at your historic mountain lodge in time for lunch,

checking in to rooms surrounded by lush country gardens.

Spend the afternoon on a guided forest walk along the riverbanks, scanning the canopy for

high-altitude avian specialties like the Scarlet-tufted Sunbird and the striking Hartlaub’s

Turaco. Gather for a cozy dinner at the lodge restaurant by the fireplace as the evening

mountain chill sets in.

Days 6-9: Samburu, Buffalo Springs & Shaba Reserves

Travel deeper into Kenya’s dramatic northern frontier after breakfast, checking out to drive

luxury riverfront lodge in the afternoon, enjoy a fresh lunch, and head right out for your first

game drive along the Ewaso Nyiro River.

Over the next three days, you will embark on morning and afternoon safaris tracking down the

unique “Samburu Special Five” including the Reticulated Giraffe, Grevy’s Zebra, Somali

Ostrich, Beisa Oryx, and Gerenuk. Birding enthusiasts will delight in spotting the beautiful

Days 10-11: Lake Nakuru National Park

Day 12: Lake Naivasha

Day 13 - Crescent Island & Departure

Day 9: Drive from Mbeya & Kitulo Highlands

Check out of camp after breakfast and drive towards Kitulo Highlands. Arrive at the park retreat

Day 10: Full Day in Kitulo National Park

Spend a relaxed day exploring the high-altitude grasslands and mountain views of Kitulo

National Park. Known locally as the Garden of God, Kitulo is protected for its unique botanical

richness, montane meadows, and endemic bird species. Enjoy a quiet morning walking safari

accompanied by a park ranger to appreciate the mountain scenery and open valleys.

Day 11: Kitulo Plateau to Mbeya Coffee Country

After a relaxed breakfast, enjoy your final views of the mountain plateau before taking a short

3-hour drive down into the agricultural valley of Mbeya. This day is specifically arranged to

break up the long distance comfortably before the journey west. Arrive at your lodge located

on a working coffee estate in time for lunch. Spend the entire afternoon at your complete leisure

relaxing in the gardens or resting in your room.

Day 12: Drive from Mbeya to Kipili (Lake Tanganyika)

After breakfast, head out by driving from Mbeya towards to the remote shoreline of Lake

Tanganyika, one of the oldest and deepest freshwater lakes in the world. Arrive and check in at

your lakeshore lodge. Your entire afternoon and evening are reserved for pure relaxation, rest

in your room, walk on the beach, or watch the sunset over the water with a cold drink.

Day 13: Full Day at Kipili (Lake Tanganyika)

on the beach, or opt for low-intensity kayaking, snorkeling, or a walk through the nearby
